Lorain County VA Outpatient Clinic Celebrates Groundbreaking

The groundbreaking for a new Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic was held December 9, 2019 in Sheffield Village, Ohio.
Carnegie Management had renovated an existing building that has been used by the VA as an interim healthcare clinic in Sheffield Village since 2016. In order to accommodate the VA’s need for a new facility, Carnegie purchased two additional buildings which will be demolished to make way for the new clinic. Demolition will begin in January 2020, with construction for the new clinic expected to start in March, 2020.

“We at Carnegie Management were proud to provide local veterans an interim healthcare facility,” said Dr. Rustom Khouri, president of Carnegie Management and Development Corporation. “And now, to continue to provide them with a permanent comprehensive healthcare facility for years to come is truly an honor,” Dr. Khouri continued.
The 26,000 square foot clinic will provide primary care, mental health, women’s health, physical therapy, podiatry, radiology and other specialty services to the 7,600 veterans of Lorain County and neighboring northeastern Ohio cities. The clinic is scheduled to open in 2021.

Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, Sheffield Village Mayor John Hunter, Lorain County Commissioner Matt Lundy and Jill Dietrich, Director and CEO of the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, attended the ceremony.
